Wrong vaccination in W Bengal: 4 health workers suspended; probe ordered

In West Bengal, 67 children were admitted to hospital in Aram Bagh in Hooghly district with complaints of nausea and heavy sweating after they were mistakenly given hepatitis B-vaccine orally in place of pulse polio vaccine.

Unofficial sources however, put the number of affected children to 81. While more than 20 children have been released from the hospital, 60 are said to be under medical care.

Four health workers have been suspended for the serious lapse and an inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
