Indian woman wrestler Geeta qualified for the London Olympics after she reached the final of the Asian qualifying event in Astana, Kazakhstan on Sunday. In the 55kg category, Geeta won two bouts to enter the final round. Both the gold and silver medallists from the Asian qualifying event which ends on Sunday, will get a ticket to the London Games. This is the first time an Indian female grappler has qualified for the Olympics since women's wrestling was introduced in the quadrennial extravaganza in 2004.
