Wreckage of missing Pawan Hans helicopter found in Arunachal Pradesh

In Arunachal Pradesh, the wreckage of the missing Pawan Hans Chopper has been sighted today morning after a week long search and rescue operation. The chopper carrying Tirap District Deputy Commissioner Kamalesh Joshi and two others went missing on August 4 on its way from Khonsa in Tirap district to Longding. Indian Air Force started search operation at 4.34 am today morning with 9 co-ordinates at hand. At around 5.45 am the search team informed the command to have sighted the debris of the missing Pawan Hans chopper near Sangliam village 12 km from Khonsa in Tirap District.<br/><br/>The information was immediately passed on to Assam Rifles for carrying out ground operations. It is reported that Assam Rifles have sighted two parts- one tail and one round part of the chopper. But due to inhospitable terrain, bad weather and darkness more could not be found today. Till now there is no any news about the three occupants in the chopper. The search and rescue operation will be resumed tomorrow again.

In Arunachal Pradesh the wreckage of the missing Pawan Hans Chopper has been sighted today morning after a week long search and rescue operation. The crash site is at 12 km south from Khonsha in Tirap District.<br/><br/>A massive search operation was launched after the chopper carrying Tirap District Deputy Commissioner Kamalesh Joshi and two others went missing on August 4 on its way from Khonsa in Tirap district to Longding. Today morning the wreckage of the missing chopper was sighted by Indian Air Force near Sangliang village 12 km from Khonsa in Tirap District. However, till now there is no any news about the three occupants in the chopper. Dr. BM Mishra, Secretary Civil Aviation, informed that it will take more time to reach the ground zero as heavy rain and dense jungle is interrupting the rescue operation.

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju today said, the Air Force has confirmed that the wreckage of the missing helicopter has been found 12 km south of Khonsa, the headquarters of Tirap district. He said that Air Force chopper is hovering over the area where the wreckage has been found. However, the fate of the three occupants, of the chopper Deputy Commissioner of Tirap Kamlesh Kumar Joshi and two pilots Captain MS Brar and Captain Rajeev Hoskote is yet to be known.The Pawan Hans helicopter went missing after taking off from Khonsa in Arunachal Pradesh's Tirap district on August 4th.
