Lt. Gen Vijay Singh today said there would be a concerted heft towards construction activities in northern sectors in Thangia and Tsangchokla by 2020 . Speaking to reporters on the deliberations of the Army commanders' conference, Lt Gen Singh said , Defence Minister emphasised on the need to guard against inimical forces. <br/><br/>He said, Prime Minister's Make in India initiative in defence manufacturing sector was also discussed. Lt. Gen Singh said, the Army Chief told the conference that Army needs to be prepared for all eventualities. Quoting Army Chief, Lt Gen Singh said approach to procurement to be balanced with focus at right places.<br/><br/><br/>He said, modernization of military stations on the line of smart city plans was also stressed upon. Lt Gen Singh said necessary government sanction has been proposed to be obtained to allow procurement through existing system till 31st March 2018.
