World’s tallest building ‘Burj Dubai’ set to open today

The world’s tallest building Burj Dubai will be officially opened Monday evening in Dubai with pomp and splendour. It will be inaugurated by Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.<br/> <br/> Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the occasion which include 1,000 police, members of the bomb squad and specially trained commandos. <br/> <br/>Talking to reporters this morning at the 124th floor of the Burj Dubai, the chairman of Emaar, which made the structure, Mohamed Ali Alabbar announced the height of the structure is over 800 meters with 164 storeys.<br/> <br/>The opening ceremony coincides with the fourth anniversary date of Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum's accession as ruler of Dubai, one of the seven United Arab Emirates city-states.<br/>
