The improved version of the world's cheapest tablet- Aakash will be launched soon. HRD Minister Kapil Sibal said that the new version will be fully indigenous.

He said, the government has roped in C-DAC and ITI in further development of the tablet computer.

Welcoming competition from market for development of the tablet, he said the ultimate objective is to give a quality product to the children.

The Aakash tablet is priced at approximately 49 US dollars and its new version is also likely to be sold on the same price.
