World Bank CEO Kristalina Georgieva today travelled in a local train in Mumbai and also inspected the operations of the suburban rail system which has been supported by the international financial institution. According to an official from Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation, Georgieva arrived in Mumbai on Monday night on her first India visit. The official said that the World Bank CEO visited MRVC office in and interacted with senior officials about the various World Bank-funded projects in the city. Georgieva in her train journey interacted with commuters and patiently heard their experiences while travelling in suburban train. To know how city administrators are striving to ensure that basic services are delivered to all residents, one -third of whom live in slums, the World Bank CEO also visited a school serving low-income households in Dharavi and interacted with students, teachers and parents.
