Today is the World Wetland Day. Government has selected Keoladeo National Park at Bharatpur in Rajasthan for this year's celebrations. Union Environmant and Forest Minister Jairam Ramesh will be in Bharatpur to conclude two days celebrations. The minister will be touring in park that has been facing a severe water crisis. Bangalore will be another site to celebrate the Day. Many government agencies, non-governmental organizations and people in large numbers will participate in the function. The day also marks the 40th anniversary of Ramsar convention on wetlands that was held in the Iranian city located on the shores of the Capsian Sea on 2nd February in 1971.
