World Tourism Day is being observed today. This day is celebrated every year to foster awareness among the international community on the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic value. Tourism Ministry will launch <b>National Integrated Database of Hospitality Industry</b>, NIDHI 2.0 and India Tourism Statistics – At a Glance, 2021 in New Delhi today. The Ministry is organizing an event to celebrate World Tourism Day, which has been designated by the United Nations World Tourism Organization as a day to focus on Tourism for Inclusive Growth. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy will present on the occasion. During the event, a Memorandum of Understanding will also be signed between Ministry of Tourism, United Nations Environment Programme and the Responsible Tourism Society of India to actively promote and support sustainability initiatives in the tourism sector of each other.<br />”<br />” India is in unlocking phase and domestic tourism has re-started slowly and steadily. The Covid-19 pandemic has had an immense socio-economic impact worldwide and gradual increase in the domestic tourism will help for recovery and growth in many folds of the society.<br />

Today is World Tourism Day. The Day is celebrated on 27th September Since 1980 to foster awareness among the international community of the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic value.<br/><br/>The theme of this year is 'Tourism for all – promoting universal accessibility'. <br/><br/>In a massage, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said that on this World Tourism Day, let the world recognize that all people can and should be able to participate in tourism and enjoy unforgettable travel experiences.<br/><br/>Celebrating the day, India will focus on cleanliness, security and better connectivity of tourist areas to boost tourism in the country. Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma in New Delhi yesterday said clean tourism is the dream of the Ministry which has been inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cleanliness movement. <br/><br/>To give impetus to the cleanliness initiative, the minister appealed that polythene would be banned at all tourist spots from October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.<br/><br/>On this occasion today The minister will flag off 'Swachh Paryatan Run' and a special sightseeing tour of the monuments and museums in Delhi for Divyang children.<br/><br/>Mr Sharma will also present awards to Rewarding Ministry of Tourism Offices, its organisations and of a painting competition organised by India Tourism.
