World T20: England beat Afghanistan by 15 runs; India to clash with Bangladesh

England beat Afghanistan by 15 runs in a keenly contested match of the World T-20 cricket match played in Delhi. Chasing a target of 143 runs, Afghanistan managed to score 127 for 9 in the stipulated 20 overs. Shafiqullah played a valiant knock of 35 not out off 20 balls but was not ably supported by batsmen other than Samiullah Shenwari who contributed 22 runs. Earlier opting to bat England seemed in deep trouble when they were slumped to 6 for 57. Moeen Ali's unbeaten 41 and DJ Willey's 20 not out gave England a late lift, as the team recovered from 85 for 7 to make 142 in 20 overs. For Afghanistan, Mohammad Nabi and Samiullah Shenwari claimed two wickets each.In another fixture today, India will clash with Bangladesh this evening in a must-win group game of the tournament at Bengaluru. This match will begin at 7:30 PM. Team India has won a game, and lost one, and will have to beat Bangladesh by a decent margin today to stay alive in the tournament. Bangladesh, which has lost both the matches played so far, is at the bottom of Group-2, and a defeat today will end their chances of progressing to the semi-finals. In Women's World T20, South Africa will clash with Ireland in Chennai at 7:30 PM.
