Hosts Bangladesh won the first qualifying Group A match of the World Twenty20 against Afghanistan by 9 wickets in Mirpur on Sunday. Chasing a paltry victory target of 73 set by Afghanistan, Bangladesh scored 78 for 1 in 12 overs. Earlier, sent into bat, Afghanistan were all out for 72 in 11.1 overs.In the next group A qualifier match, now in progress in Chittagong, Nepal has set a victory target of 150 for Hongkong. Asked to bat first after losing the toss, Nepal scored 149 for 8 in 20 overs. In reply, Hong Kong were 30 for 2 in 4.5 overs when reports last came in.
