Australia women today defeated Sri lanka women by nine wickets with 14 balls remaining in a Group A match of the ICC World T20 Women Championship at New Delhi. Chasing a victory target of 124 runs, they accomplished their task ending with 125 for one in 17.4 overs.Meg Lanning rem,ained not out on 56 while Elyss Villani made unbeaten 53.Earlier, deciding to bat first, Sri Lanka made 123 runs in their allotted overs. Surangika and Sanjeevani made 38 runs each. For Australia, Schutt and eams picked up two wickets each.Two more Women matches, both in Group B, are scheduled on Thursday evening.Pakistan women will take on Bangladesh women at New Delhi, while England women will meet West Indies women at Dharamsala.
