World Red Cross day observed in Meghalaya today

In Meghalaya the "World Red Cross day" observed today along the rest part of the country. A free eye cum bone check up camp also organized by the Shillong Red Cross Society in the state capital .Meghalaya Governor Dr. Ranjit Sekher Moosahari addressing people on the occasion called for an integrated effort to be undertaken for mitigating natural disaster like earth quake .Alerting people on the consequence of natural disaster he said no disaster will come followed by an prior intimation. Dr Moosahari informed that predictions are being made by people that earth quack is coming north east will SMSs are being sent earth quake may come .<br/>In 2006 a great scientist from Chennai who predicted the date and time of the quake for the north east region Dr Moosahri said as a result there was a bandh like situation in the areas, but nothing came out as per the predictions. He said so far prediction of flood and drought could be made by using scientific methods but no method has been developed in the world to be predicting an earth quake, he added. <br/>The junior Red Cross cadets of the Shillong Red Cross Unit displayed demonstration of the preparedness for the earth quake.<br/>
