In Tennis, world number two Karolina Pliskova of Czechoslovakia surged into her fifth final of the year.

She thrashed unseeded Croatian-born Australian Ajla Tomljanovic 6-3, 6-2 at the WTA Zhengzhou Open in Beijing today.

Karolina will take on Petra Martic of Croatia in the finals tomorrow.
