World Newspaper Congress & World Editor’ Forum concludes

The four-day World Newspaper Congress and World Editor’ Forum have come to close on Thursday evening in Hyderabad. A host of issues relating to newspaper Industry especially the future of newspapers in the background of dip in advertising revenue and circulations were discussed by delegates by over 900 delegates from about 90 countries.<br/>Asserting that there is no peril to the existing of newspapers as people still depend on them for reliable information even while getting bombarded with the instant information provided by Television and Internet, the speakers however cautioned the industry to adapt itself to the changing media scenario and make a foray into digital media to integrate its services with them. <br/><br/>The speakers opined that the newspapers should continue to forge a relationship with the readers by highlighting their issues. <br/><br/>Rise in attacks on journalists across the globe took centre stage during the event. The next Congress will be held in June next year in Lebanon.<br/> <br/>
