Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu has said that the world must come together to tackle terrorism. <br/><br/>Addressing the valedictory ceremony of the first Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) Parliamentarians Conference in New Delhi Tuesday evening, Mr Naidu said, the biggest challenge for the world order is terrorism as is it against humanity and it has no religion. He said, there cannot be progress without peace.<br/><br/>Mr Naidu said, India is eager to have cordial relations with its neighbours and it was because of this gesture that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had even gone to Pakistan. <br/><br/>The Vice President said, India sees in PIOs an important bridge with countries where they are living and they are also instrumental in building the people to people ties. He said, the diaspora has contributed enormously for strengthening India's cultural, literary, political and economic bonds across the world.<br/><br/>In her address, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said, India wants to have a strategic partnership with its PIOs and Government has launched several programmes to connect with the diaspora. She said, the Government has a mission to remake India and PIOs can play a pivotal role in this mission.
