World leaders discuss energy access & efficiency at UAE Future Energy Summit

The leaders from all over the world have called for a unified action to address the issues of energy, poverty, energy access and energy efficiency so that the goal of universal access to energy for all can be achieved. In his inaugural address at the sixth edition of the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi yesterday, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces General Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed said that UAE is encouraging the collaboration, strategic partnerships and practical solutions necessary to seriously address the energy and climate challenges. The French President Francois Hollande delivered the keynote address as he emphasized the need to have sustainable energy solutions to meet the aspirations of the people and said the international community must work together to create the world of renewable energy. The Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner emphasized the need to provide energy access to the poor and said it is important to eradicate poverty and ensure access to energy for all.Over the next three days, the world leaders will discuss ways and means to enhance the share of clean and green energy, expand its reach and find out efficient ways to manage energy requirements.
