World Junior Hockey Cup: India beat England 5-3, virtually in quarters

In the Junior Hockey World Cup, India continued its dominant form as it registered 5-3 win over England in a Group-D encounter last evening at Lucknow. Parvinder Singh, Armaan Qureshi, Harmanpreet Singh, Simranjeet Singh and Varun Kumar found the net for India. Though the scoring was opened by English side by a goal from Jack Clee.India then cruised to a big 5-1 margin till the 60th minute but few defensive lapse handed two more goals to the home side in the end. Will Calnan and Edward Horler tried to marginalise the goal deficit but the scoreline read 5-3 at the end of regulation time.This was India's second victory in as many matches. It had thrashed Canada 4-Nil in their opening game. With this win India has virtually booked the quarter final berth from Group-D. India next plays South Africa in their final group game tomorrow.
