World Hepatitis Day and World Nature Conservation Day being observed today

<span style="color: #222222;">Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu along with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla today chaired an event to sensitise the parliamentarians on Hepatitis on the occasion of World Hepatitis Day. This year's theme is – Bringing Hepatitis care closer to you, is aimed to simplify Hepatitis care and to take Hepatitis care to Primary Health Centres and community locations.<br />”<br />”On the occasion, Mr Naidu expressed his concern over the issue of Hepatitis and called upon all Parliamentarians to take the cause of a Hepatitis-free India to their constituencies. He asked them to spread the message in vernacular languages for more impact and to change the social fabric.<br />”<br />”Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla called for a collective action against Hepatitis. He emphasized the crucial role played by the Parliament in disseminating the message in a country full of diversity. Mr Birla said that it is responsibility of the people's representatives to ensure that their constituencies have constant identification and monitoring of the Hepatitis patients and look after the needs of patients during treatment.<br />”<br />”Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya called for a collaborative effort for the health security of the country. Dr Mandaviya said, government is making all out efforts to make Hepatitis-free India. He stressed on the need to create more awareness among the people for screening of Hepatitis so that early treatment is provided.<br />”<br />”Dr Mandaviya suggested everyone to work in a mission mode to eradicate Hepatitis and make it a 'Jan Andolan' by adopting three-pronged approach of Prevention, Testing and Treatment. He said, around four thousand people die of viral hepatitis in a day in the world. The Minister said, about four crore people in India are suffering from Hepatitis B and C infection.<br />”<br />”World Hepatitis Day is observed each year on 28th of July to raise awareness of viral Hepatitis, which causes inflammation of the liver that leads to severe disease and liver cancer.<br />”<br />”Today is World Nature Conservation Day. The day is observed to create awareness the importance of protecting our natural resources. Conservation of resources has an important role in protecting the Mother Earth.<br />”<br />”Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu has emphasized for concerted efforts to conserve the limited natural resources, reduce the carbon footprint and protect our planet. He said, everyone should work towards creating a world where man can live in harmony with nature. Mr Naidu said, the world should wake up to the loss of biodiversity, embrace conservation of ecosystems and resources for future of the planet.<br />”<br />”According to the United Nation Food and Agriculture Organization, 90 per cent of the Earth’s precious topsoil is likely to be at risk by 2050.</span><br />
