World Economic Forum to focus on Emerging powers

Emerging powers from the developing world will figure prominently at the 41st annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in the Swiss resort town of Davos. World Economic Forum founder and Chairman Klaus Schwab said recent shifts of political and economic power from West to East and from North to South, as well as speedy technological innovation, have created a new reality that needs to be defined. The Forum will convene its annual meeting from January 26 to 30. Managing director of the Forum Robert Greenhill said this year's guest list includes many leaders of emerging economies, including Ethiopia, South Africa, India, Brazil, Russia and China to reflect the new reality. Some 2,500 participants from 100 countries are expected to attend the form. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is scheduled to deliver the opening address.
