Sunday is World Earth Day. The Earth Day promotes environmental awareness about the growing problem of air, water and soil pollution and calls for protection of the planet.

Delhi Chief minister Sheila Dikshit said the Environment Department of Delhi has a plan scheme “Eco-clubs in schools and colleges” to sensitize students on issues like pollution, waste management, bio-diversity and climate change.

The plan also includes the campaigns like Green Delhi, Anti-fire crackers, Say no to Plastic Bags and conservation of water and electricity.
