World Cup T20: Australia beat India

In the Twenty 20 World Cup at Bridgetown, Barbados, Australia beat India by 49 runs in the in the Group F Super Eight stage match on Friday night. Chasing a winning target of 185, Team India were all out for 135 runs in 17.4 overs. Rohit Sharma made brilliant unbeaten 79 runs in just 46 balls. For Australia D. Nannes and S. Tait took three wickets each. Earlier put in to bat, the Aussies made 184 for Five in stipulated 20 overs. Opener David Warner top-scored with 72 and Shane Watson made 54. In another Super Eight match at the same venue, Sri Lanka beat West Indies by 57 runs in the Group F Super Eight stage match. Chasing a winning target of 195, West Indies could made 138 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Dwayne Bravo made 23 and Ramnaresh Sarwan scored 28 runs. Lasith Malinga and Ajantha Mendis shared 3 wickets each.Earlier put in to bat, Sri Lanka made 194 for three in stipulated 20 overs. Mahela Jayawardene hammered an unbeaten 56-ball 98 and Sangakkara also blasted a 49-ball 68. Kemar Roach claimed 2 wickets while Dwayne Bravo took one wickets. In the ICC Women's Twenty20 cricket World Cup at St Kitts, Shelley Nitschke shone with both bat and ball to guide Australia to a comprehensive 24-run victory over South Africa in their Group A match. Nitschke blasted a 32-ball 44 and added 58-runs with Leah Poulton for the first wicket to help Australia post a competitive 155 all out in 19.3 overs after they were invited to bat first.The 33-year-old Nitschke then returned to scalp two crucial wickets giving away 21 runs to help Australia restrict South Africa to 131 for seven in 20 overs to complete the victory. Mignon du Preez then hit an unbeaten 53 off 46 balls, which included four fours and two sixes, but South Africa's middle order collapsed.
