World cup T-20: Final match between Afghanistan and Ireland underway

In the ICC Twenty 20 Qualifying rounds, the final match between Afghanistan and Ireland is underway at Dubai Interantional Cricket Stadium. The outcome of the match will decide the final groupings of the ICC World Twenty20 to be held in Sri Lanka in September-October this year. Both Ireland and Afghanistan have qualified for the ICC T20 tournament.Ireland became the second team after Afghanistan to Qualify for the World Cup T-20 championship to be held in Srilanka later this year. At the second preliminary final in Dubai this afternoon, Ireland defeated Namibia by Nine wickets. Put in to bat first ,Namibia were restricted to 94 thanks to some steady pace attack by Max Sorensen and Trent Johnson. Ireland chased down the target in just 10.1 overs at the loss of one wicket. Paul Sterling cracked an unbeaten 59 off 32 balls with nine boundaries and a six. Max Sorensen was adjudged the Man of the Match award for his spell of two wickets for eight runs in four overs. The final line up of the ICC World Twenty20 Sri Lanka 2012 will be decided on the basis of how the final finishes today. The tournament winner joins Australia and the West Indies in Group B. While the losing finalist will be put in Group A with defending champion England and India. ICC World Twenty20 will be held in Sri Lanka in September-October this year.
