South Africa today stormed into the semi-finals of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 beating Sri Lanka by nine wickets at Sydney. South African spinners made a mockery of Sri Lankan skipper Angelo Mathews' decision to bat first, as they bundled out the finalists of the last two editions for a paltry 133 in 37.2 overs. Imran Tahir bagged the maximum of four wickets. Part-time spinner JP Duminy's hat-trick, the first of this World Cup, was the other highlight of the game. After a superb performance with the ball, the Proteas easily overhauled the meagre target in the 18th over with nine wickets in hand. Opener Quinton de Kock remained unbeaten at 78, while Faf Du Plessis scored an unbeaten 21. Imran Tahir was adjudged man of the match. In the semi-finals, South Africa will face the winner of Saturday's quarter-final fixture between New Zealand and the West Indies. Tomorrow, India will take on Bangladesh at Melbourne in the second quarter-final. If India wins, it will take on either Pakistan, or Australia, for a place in the semi-final. The Australia-Pakistan quarter-final will be played on Friday.
