Chasing 297 runs for a win, the Proteas surpassed the target by making 300 for 7 in 49.4 overs. Earlier, electing to bat, co-hosts India made 296 in 48.4 overs. Sachin Tendulkar hit a blistering 111, which was his 48th ODI ton and also his Sixth in the World Cup. The century was also Tendulkar's 99th international hundred. Last night's defeat was India's first in their five matches. They now have seven points from Five games. South Africa have six points from four matches.
