In the ICC Cricket World Cup, India crushed West Indies by Eighty Runs in their last Group B league match at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai last night. The co-hosts who finished second in the Group will face defending champions Australia in the second quarter-final on Thursday in Ahmedabad. Electing to bat, India were all out for 268 in 49.1 overs. Later, the winners scuttled out the Caribbean side for 188 with seven overs to spare. Yuvraj Singh who smashed his maiden World Cup century with a brilliant knock of 113 and took two vital wickets was declared Man of the Match. The West Indies will play Pakistan in the first quarter-final on Wednesday at Mirpur, Bangladesh. The third quarter-final encounter, also at Miripur, will be between South Africa and New Zealand on Friday. In the fourth match of the last eight stage, co-hosts Sri Lanka will meet England at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Saturday. Earlier in another World Cup match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Zimbabwe defeated Kenya by 161 runs in Group A. Both teams were already out of contest for the quarter-finals.
