It was a well contested game, in which the Japanese defended well. They even had a couple of chances for the equaliser but narrowly missed the target. The Dutch now top the group with Six points. In their first game, they had defeated Denmark 2-Nil. Japan have three points and stand second in the group. In their opening fixture, they beat Cameroon 1-0 for their first ever World Cup victory on foreign soil. In Group D match in Rustenburg, Ghana take take on Australia. At Midnight tonight, Cameroon will face Denmark in their second game in Group E. The third and final two games in the group will be played simultaneously next Thursday. Japan will play Denmark, while the Netherlands will face Cameroon.
