World Cup Football (27-06-2010)

In the World Cup Football knock out round match in Rustenburg last night, Ghana defeated the United States 2-1 in extra time. Earlier, the two sides were level 1-1 at the end of the 90 minutes of regulation period. Asamoah Gyan scored the match winner for Ghana in the initial minutes of the extra time. Ghana will next meet Uruguay in the quarter-final on Friday. Earlier yesterday, Uruguay became the first team to enter the quarter-finals of the World Cup when they defeated South Korea 2-1 in the first knock-out round match in Port Elizabeth.

Two matches are scheduled for today in the World Cup Football Second Round.
In the first fixture, Germany meet England in Bloemfontein at 1930 hours.
In the second match at Midnight, Argentina will take on Mexico at Soccer City in Johannesburg.
