In Assam , a major world class IT park over an area of about 100 acres of land is being developed in the public private partnership mode by the state government near the Borjhar airport at Guwahati. The MD of the Assam Electronics Development Corporation Mr M K Yadav,who is the implementing agency of the park, said that the works on different fronts of the park are underway. The proposed park will contain state-of-the art infrastructure required for IT Services and BPO's. Assam has a large manpower base that is highly skilled in Information Technology. Once completed, the park will provide opportunities in call centres, revenue operating, data entry and conversion, animation, market research etc. The IT park development also helps generate impetus to local development of industries like real estate, retail, lifestyle and recreation.
