Today is the World Book and Copy-right Day. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) is celebrating World Book and Copy right Day on April 23rd every year to promote reading, publishing and protection of intellectual property through copy right. <br/> <br/>Quoting several publishing house sources AIR Bhuj correspondent reports that the reading habit of books in the younger generation is descending due to the internet, television show and other activities. <br/> <br/>Several programmes have been organised on this occasion today throughout the country. In bordering district of Kutch Sahajanand Rural Development Trust an NGO has started a unique campaign to start the book bank in all primary and secondary schools in the second largest district of the country.<br/> <br/>In West Bengal, World Book day is being celebrated all over the state. The Publishers and Booksellers Guild is organising ten day long ‘Book Bazar’ in Kolkata to celebrated the day. <br/> <br/>Eminent film personality Soumitra Chattapadhya and noted author Sunil Gangopadhyay will inaugurate the ‘Book Bazar’ at Rabindra Sadan – Bangla Akademi Complex Friday evening. <br/> <br/>The publishers and Booksellers Guild will felicitate noted Editor Mr. Baridbaran Ghosh and artist Mr. Subrata Chowdhury on the occasion. <br/>
