A World Bank report has said that the poor quality of education is hampering economic development of South Asian Nations including India.The report also said that surveys conducted in India and Pakistan, reflected the poor performance of the teachers in Mathematics and language tests based on the curriculum they are supposed to teach.The report, however, noted that, governments across the region have come to realise that apart from providing education access to all, improving quality of education and learning outcome is critical for the growth of a nation .The study was the first comprehensive analysis on performance of South Asian educational systems.
