The World Bank Group on Thursday signed an agreement with the International Solar Alliance, consisting of 121 countries led by India, with the goal of mobilizing one trillion dollar in investments by 2030. The Bank announced support of more than one billion dollar in support for India's solar-energy program. The agreement was signed in the presence of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Power Minister Piyush Goyal and World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim in New Delhi.The World Bank-supported projects under preparation include solar rooftop technology, infrastructure for solar parks, bringing innovative solar and hybrid technologies to market and transmission lines for solar-rich states.
