World Bank approves funding for Rajasthan agricultural project

World Bank has approved Agricultural Competitiveness project for Rajasthan. Over eight hundred and thirty two crore rupees would be spent under this project for water management and sustainable agricultural development in the state.The Project will be started this year and is expected to increase agricultural productivity and farmer incomes through efficient water and crop management and improved agricultural technology. It will be launched in 20 selected areas of around 10,000 hactares each and will benefit about 155,000 farmers.Under this project 545 crore rupees would be reimbursed by World Bank ,242 Crores Rupees by Government of Rajasthan and 45.5 Crores Rupees shall be contributed by beneficiaries. The project will integrate agriculture water management and agricultural technology in selected locations across the ten agro-ecological zones of the state.
