World Badminton Championships: Sindhu enters semi-finals

Indian shuttler P V Sindhu has entered the Women's Singles semi-finals of the World Badminton Championships. In the quarterfinal at Glasgow today, 22-year old Sindhu defeated fifth seed Sun Yu of China in straight games 21-14, 21-9. Sindhu had twice won a bronze medal at the 2013 and 2014 editions of the World Championships. In another last eight fixture later tonight, Saina Nehwal will take on Scotland's Kirsty Gilmour. Earlier today, Kidambi Srikanth bowed out of the Men's Singles event after losing his quarterfinal fixture in straight games 14-21, 18-21 against World Number One, Son Wan Ho of Korea.
