The World Badminton Championship 2015 starts in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, today. India is fielding its biggest contingent at the prestigeous championships which will be held at the Gelora Bung Karno stadium. Indian side is led by Saina Nehwal world number two in women's singles and K. Srikanth currently ranked 3rd in the men's singles. In the first round of men's singles event today, Commonwealth Games champion P. Kashyap will square up against Erik Meijs of The Netherlands while 11th seeded H S Prannoy will be up against Alex Tjong of Brazil.In the Men's doubles event, Indian duo of Akshay Dewalkar and Pranaav Chopra will be taking on Russian pair of Nikita Khamikov and Vasily Kuznetsov in the first round. Whereas, Indian women's pair of Pradnya Gadre and Sikki Reddy will face Germans Isabel Herttrich and Birgit Michels.Besides them, two Indian mixed pairs of Tarun Kona-Sikki Reddy and Arun Vishnu- Aparna Balan will also be in action today.
