In World Athletics Championships, India's M P Jabir failed to qualify in the men's 400m hurdles semi-final at Doha tonight.

The Asian bronze medallist finished 5th in his heat at 49.71 seconds. Jabir qualified for the semis finishing third in his heat in 49.62 seconds on the opening day yesterday.

Ace Indian sprinter Dutee Chand also failed to qualify for the 100 metres heats as she finished seventh with a timing of 11.48 seconds.

The mixed relay team is going to compete later today. India's hopes for making a mark at the Championships rest on the relay team, especially the mixed relay unit, that won gold at Asian Games 2018.
