In the World Athletics Championships, Indian runner Nirmala Sheoran failed to qualify to the Women's 400 metres Final at London last night. The 22-year old Haryana girl could not make it to the Final-9 after she finished seventh in the semi-finals heats with a timing of 53.07 seconds.The highlight of the day was Omar McLeod who won a Gold in the Men's 110 metres Hurdles giving Jamaica its first coveted yellow metal of the Championships. McLeod led from start to finish to take the Gold from defending champion Sergey Shubenkov of Russia in 13.04 seconds. Balazs Baji of Hungary took home the Bronze.After four days of the Championships, the United States leads the medals tally, with Kenya second and Ethiopia third.
