World Athletics Championships: Blake wins 100 metres final

In the World Athletics Championships at Daegu, South Korea on Sunday, Jamaican Yohan Blake won the men's world 100 metres final after defending champion and Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt was dramatically disqualified for a false start. World record holder Bolt ripped off his vest as soon as the second gun went off to indicate the false start and was leddisconsolately from the track. Bolt's 21-year-old training partner Blake stormed home in 9.92 seconds to claim his first major title.In the finals of Women's long jump, Asian champion Mayookha Johny finished ninth. Mayookha, who was the third Indian ever to qualify for the final of an individual event, registered her best, 6.37 metres, in the first leap. Among other Indians, Gurmeet Singh and Babubhai Kesharabhai Panucha finished 30th and 31st in men's 20 kilometre walk.
