The two-day State Peer Learning-cum-Orientation Workshop for seven states on Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) concluded at Jalandhar on Friday evening. The officials concerned from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Karnataka shared their experiences to make this National programme more beneficial for those who earn their livelihood by working under it.AIR correspondent reports, it had emphasized on new additions in the scheme and identification of roadblocks in its effective implementation.The workshop was arranged to discuss 30 new works that the Ministry of Rural Development has added in MNREGA and to find out new ways while facing challenges during the implementation of the programme. These new works are related to Watershed in mountain regions, Livestock , Fisheries, Rural Drinking Water and Rural Sanitation.
