<span style="color: #222222;">In Adaman and Nicobar islands, the activities under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, MGNREGA have been started in Nicobar district as per the government directives. Under the scheme, priority is being given to works related to agriculture, horticulture, irrigation and water conservation.<br />'' <br />'' Deputy Commissioner Dr Monica Priyadarshini informed that sanitary pads along with masks and soaps are being provided to the migrant female labourers. They are also to strictly follow the social distancing norms. The representatives of District Administration and councillors regularly go and inspect the availability of food and medicines at the labour camps situated in the district. </span><br />
