After remaining suspended for about four years, the work on Udhampur-Katra railway section has finally begun and with this, the holy town of Katra, the base camp of pilgrimage to cave shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, is likely to get rail connectivity within a period of two years i.e. by March 2012 whereas work will be completed on Udhampur- Srinagar section by 2017.<br/><br/>
