In a bid to strengthen road communication between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh the longest Rail-cum-Road Bridge is being constructed over the river Brahmaputra in Assam. Talking to mediapersons in Dibrugarh, a spokesperson of the Northeast Frontier Railway said that the Bridge having a length of 4.94 kilometers will facilitate connectivity between the North and South of river Brahmputra's bank between the two states. Our correspondent who visited the construction site reports that the work is on in full swing. Commissioning of the bridge will also strengthen national security . It is situated 17 kilometers downstream of Dibrugarh city.
