India has finished fourth in the Women's World team Chess Championships at Chengdu, China, even as D. Harika and Koneru Humpy came up with fine individual performances to bag a Silver and a Bronze respectively. A team medal was within the grasp of the Indian eves, but they could not produce enough at the end. They finished just one point shy of China which claimed the Bronze medal. Considering that the Indian team entered the tournament as a wild card, a fourth-place finish can be justified as a pretty decent show. China was beaten in the final round by Georgia which finished the event with an impressive 17 points to clinch the Gold. Russia claimed the Silver after defeating United States in the final round.
