Women's Grand Prix Chess: India's Rameshbabu Vaishali to face Lagno Kateryna of Russia in first round

India's Rameshbabu Vaishali will start her campaign tomorrow in the first leg of 2022-23 Women's Grand Prix Chess at  Nur Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan.  

Vaishali will face Lagno Kateryna of  Russia in the first round. She replaced GM Humpy Koneru who withdrew from the event due to medical reasons.

The Women's FIDE Chess Grand Prix is a four-tournament series, played by 26 players. All 16 players are allowed to play in 3 tournaments each, with a slot at the Women's World Chess Championship match at stake.
