In the Women's Double of US Open Tennis, India's Sania Mirza pairing with Chinese partner Peng Shuai defeated in the second round the Slovak pair of Jana Cepelova and Magdalena Rybarikova 6-7, 6-3, 6-3. In the Mixed doubles, Indian Rohan Bopanna pairing with Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski of Canada in round one defeated the pair of British Heather Watson and Finland's Henri Kontinen in a hard fought match 6-4, 4-6, 13-11.Earlier, India's Leander Paes and Purav Raja sailed into the men's doubles second round. Veteran Paes and Raja thrashed Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic and Viktor Troicki 6-1, 6-3. Paes and Raja will face the Russian team of Karen Khachanov and Andrey Rublev. However, Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna crashed out of their respective events.In the men's doubles second round match, 10th seeded combine of Bopanna and Uruguay's Pablo Cuevas, were defeated by former Australian Open winners Fabio Fognini and Simone Bolelli 5-7, 6-4, 6-4. Sania and her mixed doubles partner Ivan Dodig of Croatia lost to the Latvian-French pair of Jelena Ostapenko and Fabrice Martin 7-5, 3-6, 6-10.
