In women's cricket, India defeated West Indies in Brisbane today by two runs in the first warm-up game of the upcoming T20 World Cup.  Electing to bat, India posted 107 for eight in their stipulated 20 overs before returning to restrict West Indies to 105 for seven.

Spinner Poonam Yadav claimed three wickets. The 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup will be the seventh tournament in the series. It is scheduled to be held in Australia from Friday when India take on hosts at Sydney in the opener.

The final will take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on the 8th of next month which marks International Women's Day. The day aims to help nations worldwide eliminate discrimination against women and also focuses on helping women gain full and equal participation in global development.
