President Pranab Mukherjee today said that women empowerment through education will have positive impact on our society. <br/><br/>Delivering the Convocation Address at 29th annual convocation of Goa University held at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee indoor stadium in Goa, President Mukherjee said young women particularly from the marginalised sections should get increased access to colleges and universities. <br/><br/>President Pranab Mukherjee also observed two-minute silence to pay respect to the 25 CRPF personnel who lost their lives in the Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh.<br/><br/>A total of 56 PhD degrees were awarded to students under different faculties. The University conferred an honorary doctorate degree to the President. Governor of Goa Smt. <br/><br/>Mridula Sinha presided over the function. Chief Minister of Goa Shri Manohar Parrikar was also present as the special guest at the function.
