The women BSF Personnel will now participate in the famed Retreat ceremony at Indo Pak Attari border. Having toned down the aggressive Gestures and stepping during the flag lowering ceremony, the BSF has introduced Women constables in the ceremony as an experiment and if successful it would become a permanent feature. The BSF DIG Mohammod Aquil told that they have picked up four women constables from among the twenty trained for this purpose and if the performance is satisfactory and response from crowd is encouraging, the women constables participation would be a regular feature. DIG told that once decided women constables permanent on parade some changes would be made in their ceremonial uniform. Thus far there have never been any women in the retreat ceremony.
