Woman diplomat of Indian High Commission in Islamabad arrested on espionage charges

A woman diplomat working in the Indian High Commission in Islamabad has been arrested in New Delhi, on espionage charges. It is alleged that she was passing on information to her contacts in the Pakistani intelligence agency – ISI. <br/><br/>The accused, Madhuri Gupta, was arrested four days ago, after she was summoned to New Delhi. She had been working as Second Secretary in the Mission for almost three years. External Affairs Ministry spokesman Vishnu Prakash told media persons that the matter is currently under investigation. <br/>
