The Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr. Prem Kumar Dhumal has alleged that by withdrawing special concessions given to the state in context of setting up industries, the Centre has done injustice to Himachal. He said that the state was promised that the concessions would continue till 2013 but have been withdrawn in March end, this year.Describing the achievements of his govt. in Himachal Pradesh during a press conference in Jalandhar, today, Mr. Dhumal said that this is a false belief that any industry has shifted from Punjab to Himachal. In fact industries from other states have come to setup new units in the state. He said that Punjab should not oppose any such concessions given to Himachal rather should ask for the same from the Centre.The Chief Minister said that the state would start generating 10,000 Mega Watt (MW) of Hydel Power by 2012 which would be further increased to 15,000 MW by the year 2017. This much of power generation would not only help Himachal but would benefit all those states also which purchase power from it.Regarding setting up a rope-way from Anandpur Sahib to Naina Devi, the Chief Minister said that the officials of tourism department of both the states are working on it.Mr. Dhumal when asked whether Punjabi is being taught in Himachal schools said that the language is being taught in 100 schools of his state and the number of schools is increasing as per the demand.
